Battles themselves are turn-based, and allow players to use attacks, special skills, or items on each turn. The game allows players to assign jobs to Miis on their team, which determines what they can do in battle. Finally, players can stick with the game’s default Miis if they don't want to create their own characters. Players can also share and receive Mii characters online if they have a Nintendo Switch Online subscription. Players can create Miis that look like their own friends and family or use their imagination to create someone new.
